I get what it means, i.e., you have to contribute to your relationship with a loved one (prob your boyfriend) to get something out of it, or more specifically, get love in return from the opposite party. But one thing to note - does it really mean that if you are willing to give or sacrifice something or have alrdy done so - you'll get something in return? It's not necessary so right? and by bad things - wad do u mean?
