CNY Reunion BBQ with family at NSRCChey guys - i'm burning like hell right now cos i took loads of beer while bbqing away at the resort - and I feel so "hot"!!!!!
Yup reunion dinner was at NSRCC (National Service Resort & Country Club) - we had loads of food - curry, my grandma's homemade meatball soup, fried noodles, bee hoon, bbqed chicken, satay, dessert, otah, hot dogs & bak kwa that was freshly bbqed on the spot. Basically me, my few uncles, my sister and my dad were standing there, taking turns to "jaga" (look after and cook) the food on the pit. It was a really fun time talking and chatting, joking and making sarcastic jokes at one another. My little cousins and younger siblings were having the time of their life swimming, playing badminton (all thanks to yours truly), playing their version of poker.
Talking about poker haha, my dad (the eldest son), and my three other uncles took a break from BBQing and sat down in the living room to play blackjack and their sons (yup all of them have one son each) were sitting just next to them - it was like a perfect timing haha - and we were all asking Goon Goon (my grandad) to come in and look at the scene - with his four sons and his four grandsons playing blackjack (and yup they really gambled but just like $2-$4 per bet that kind of thing haha). I took loads of pictures and will load them up soon.
I actually reached there yesterday with my younger sis and we went to play bowling, arcade games, pool (I found out I was not bad at all at pool despite my first try haha). We went to play again twice today haha... and before the rest of them came we were also playing badminton and had a gr8 time laughing until my head was so dizzy so many times I had to sit down and relax (my mum tells me it's because I'm anemic, lacking blood).
However, one thing I was pretty upset about was the fact that one of my aunties brought her distant relatives along and all the while what they could was just sit at the porch and talk and eat and eat and eat while we had to stand and stand and stand and cook for them like as if we were their servants (bloody hell). That was why i deliberately only "delivered" food to my own family clan instead of bringing it to them. and hahaha one thing i find so ironical is that all they could do in the end was just to say a miserable thank you to us. I am so NOT going to cook for them next year. if they want the food, they'll have to cook it themselves.
mood: excited and happy
