The cap of the Pepsi can has been released & TALKING TALKING TALKINGAnd the Pepsi has come out of the can and you can kind of say that I'm relieved now. at least half-relieved. Nothing's changed (I hope) and the lemon Pepsi still tastes great (i'm digressing - but that soft drink is really good!! I so prefer Pepsi to Coke - Coke is so sweet and eww... Pepsi
is sweet
BUT it gives you a thrilling/burning sensation when it goes down your throat.) Sorry I know I like to go off track a lot.. haha.
Today I had a fun time at E-lang tutorial - was really cracking and using my rusty brain - haha.. and, surprisingly, my mouth. We had to form into groups and i got together with 3 other girls and had to come up with a group name. We called ourselves Bejeweled (as in the MSN game at Zone.com) and got down to Task 1 which was to figure out what the words "gyre and gimble" in Lewis Caroll's poem "Jabberwocky" were, i.e. were they nouns or verbs by using morphology and distribution frames (getting a bit too technical here - can't help it). I kind of became the unofficial group leader cos no one took charge so I thought someone had to do something about stuff so I made the move by starting to ask questions like "so why not we reintroduce ourselves (cos basically no one wld pay attention to first introductions) and jot down our contacts and email addresses?" that kind of stuff. Then we had to start the task and we kept quiet for quite a while (everyone's pretending to read their notes and books) when every other group were discussing so busily and talking. So I had to start the discussion going right?
So I asked questions again lor - then the discussion started rolling (finally...) But basically they're all sweet girls and very nice ppl. And then we had to kind of say out loud our explanations and when it almost came to our turn we were like "so who's gng to say? who's gng to present?" then one of them said me and I was like shaking my head cos I'm so bloody afraid of talking in class. but then when it really came to our turn - for the first 5 seconds no one talked then I had to immediately respond right???? or else we'll be stuck forever so I opened my golden mouth and talked which was really surprising cos this is my first tutorial only for the semester and i actually opened my mouth to voice my opinion. I think I kinda gave the impression to my group members that I can really talk when i was trying to get them to talk during the task discussion so that's why I was given the "sacred" task of representing them. I think one of them volunteered to do the next wk's presentation (fortnightly - but our grp members decided on taking turns by doing this - 2 of us will present nxt wk - remaining 3 will present 2 wks later) and immediately asked me to do it with her cos she knows that I can talk. what a smart girl... which means I have to start preping for the next presentation already liao lor before i meet her on wed to discuss 2gether. haiz........ God i hate presenting.... but at least now I know I can talk (if 1) no pressure, 2) tian shi di li ren he - which just means you must have right timing and luck..... which I think is not gng to happen unless the blue moon comes out - once in a blue moon mah)
got a bloody lame thing i came up with - when u want to say u dunno about something to someone's question or wish to express your feeling of "I dunno what the hell you're talking about" when you face some question like "do you know what is the answer to this math question (which is full of symbols and chim stuff - not tt I'm dumb in maths - in fact i love math - just want to demo that kind of facial expression when you go "HUH????") - you can say this - "Can you see something is on top of my head?" Then the opposite party will mostly go "huh? what?" and look at your head. And then you continue "You can't see that big question mark on my head ah?" It's pretty lame but I think it's funny cos when u see that person's expression of exasperation mixed with amusement at you, u wld naturally feel it's funny...
gotta go now - got a full day ahead - sch from 10 - 4, with a break in between and I have to rush home to get stuff and leave by around 6 for tanah merah mrt to get to the resort........... willl prolly be too tired to drag myself ard for games haha... but i swear i'm gng to learn to play pool - i've not touched that game ever b4 (cos i'm afraid of meeting ah bengs and ah lians when i go to these places but since that resort is so ulu and prolly have no one playing pool - just nice for me) except online haha... i got the basic concept - it's a game of angles and geometry - so i'm gonna put this theory of mine to use tmr haha...
and it's so nice to know that people are actually reading your blog (thanks to coolcounters... aiyah ok I better go liao.. talk so much... bye bye..
